I created my website Handfastings.org to help link people in the Pagan and Wiccan communities with ordained officiants who perform Wedding Ceremonies, Vow Renewal ceremonies, Wiccanings, Baby Namings, Commitment Ceremonies, and other Rites of Passage and celebrations. Allie (my hubby) and I had an awesome alternative-ish wedding and I hope that those who wish to get married in an unconventional way have as much luck and spirit that we had for ours!

I am Wiccan and am always looking to meet like-minded people. Bonus if you live in or near "New Ro"! When I began planning my wedding, I became obsessed with handfastings. And now I would like to perform them one day, thanks to the beautiful ceremony that my HPS perfomed for us. If you'd like to share your handfastings stories with me, I would be honored. I'd love to learn from you!

I love: My husband, of course! I love all animals and have a close connection to cats and birds. Very early on in life I found the Goddess in Nature. I am an artist & writer. I work in the not-for-profit world. I have been Pagan all my life with a cultural/religious background in Judaism. I am studying Wicca, and hope to one day soon become a High Priestess!

Looking to connect with like minded Pagans/Wiccans in the New Rochelle, NY or NYC area. My path has lead me towards a Wiccan route. I am currently a First Degree Witch of the Minoan Tradition, student of Lady Chandara Anath of Circle of the Crescent Moon, which holds aspects of Ancient Pagan beliefs of Crete & Greece, and also includes ritualistic aspects of the Gardnerian Tradition.

Some books I am reading on sacred, ancient & modern handfastings: Magical Weddings – Joy Ferguson Handfasted and Heartjoined – Lady Maeve Rhea Handfasting, A Practical Guide – May Neasham Inviting Hera’s Blessing – Raven Kaldera and Tannin Schwartzstein. This is almost as extensive as my lipstick obsession.

Other fun &; exciting suggested reading list: Margot Adler - Drawing Down the Moon (one of my FAVORITES!), Starhawk - Spiral Dance, Janet &; Stewart Farrar - Witches Bible Compleat, Raymond Buckland - Complete Book of Witchcraft, Doreen Valiente - Witchcraft for Tomorrow, Scott Cunningham - Complete Book of Incense, Oils and Brews (I am obsessed with this book), Merlin Stone - When God was a Woman, Carol Christ - Rebirth of the Goddess Thomas Bulfinch - Bulfinch’s Mythology (New Edition), Marion Bradley Zimmer- Mists of Avalon, Clysta Kinstler - The Moon Beneath Her Feet (my HPS made me read it and I am so glad she did!).

Magazines I adore: Circle Network News (periodical) Pan Gaia (magazine) Sage Woman (magazine – another favorite!) The Beltaine Papers (periodical) New Witch (magazine); Of course other stuff too, like anything by Neil Gaiman (novels, etc.) and the Gregory MacGuire post-fairytale books, and fantastic children's books (don't knock it, adults!) like Alice in Wonderland and the Narnia series... Also Edgar Allen Poe... and poets like Emily Dickenson (the original goth chick!) and Robert Frost...there are so many more... Who else can I obsess over? Let's see. Hmmm...

By the way, if you actually read this whole thing, I won't believe it unless you drop me a line. Oh, and Bravo!
